What are the criteria for hospice admission?
Hospice is for people with a life-limiting illness who want comfort care rather than curative treatment. Ontario-Yates Hospice, a program of Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service provides hospice services at Hospeace House. Patients qualify for the program when they: Have an incurable illness with a prognosis of six months or less; Wish to not seek curative treatment; Have a physician's order for program services.
Will my insurance cover the cost?
Insurance coverage for certified hospice care is available through Medicare, Medicaid and some private insurance plans. A residence fee of $175.00 per day will be assessed for each resident electing to stay at our 4-bed residence. This fee will cover costs associated with care not reimbursed by insurances. Financial assistance may also be available.
What if my loved one lives outside of Yates or Ontario County?
Hospeace House is located in Naples a township of Ontario County. Therefore patients who reside at Hospeace House will be able to receive care provided by Ontario-Yates Hospice.
How do I find out if my loved-one can enter the Naples Hospeace House?
Inquiries for admission can be directed to Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service who partners with Hospeace House, Inc. to operate the Hospeace House. You can call Finger Lakes VNS at 800-253-4439.
Can you recommend accommodations nearby for out-of-town family or guests?
Naples Hospeace House is very unique in that the house has a separate second-floor apartment that family or friends of residents can utilize in order to spend more time with loved ones at their critical time of need. There is no charge for utilization of the guest apartment.
Can you tell me about meals and medications for my loved-one?

Hospice care provides meals, medication, housekeeping and any medical equipment needs for each resident.

Is there usually a waiting list?

At times there is a waiting list for services, however most often a bed is available.

How many individuals reside at Naples Hospeace House?
The home is able to accommodate up to two residents at one time. Each resident has a private bedroom.

At what times during their stay will I be able to visit my loved one?
The Hospeace House is staffed 24 hours a day. There are no pre-established visiting hours or visiting restrictions.
